October 2025 Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order at 3PM by Club President Susan Richardson.

Presentation

Brad KC1JMH gave a presentation on Echolink. Brad provided information on getting an Echolink account and installation of the software. Brad also provided information on using Echolink and how it can be used to make contacts all over the world. Lots of interest from members and guests present.

Announcements

Ernie and Susan want to update the Club membership roster so they requested members email with updated information so we can have an updated membership list.

Approval of the September Meeting Minutes

Tabled until the October meeting.

Treasurers Report

$1,223.87 in checking account.
Payout to the State of Maine $40.00.
Receipts of $15.00 membership fee and a $5.00 gift.

Public Information Officer’s Report

Rick KB1ASM reported that he has made posts on the W1YCA Web Site, Ham Radio Society, Sentinel, and the Waterboro Reporter.

Old Business

Shaker Hill Apple Festival Ham Radio operation was a success. Tony AA3HD reported that the W1YCA made 561 QSOs for all the events the Club participated in this season.

The new DMR Net will start Wednesday October 22 nd at 7 PM with Tony AA3HD as Net Control. The Net will continue every other week on Wednesdays at 7 PM.

New Business

Thanks to Tim KB1PRG for the improvements to the 147.345
repeater.

Radio repairs to the Club’s Icom 751 would be about $65.00. This is an old radio, and it was decided not to repair the radio at this time.

Jack K1NKS is working on the new VE program and will report back at the next meeting. The Club decided that they will participate in Winter Field Day 2026.

Alex KQ4TRQ asked Club members if there is interest in members helping with Scout Ham event in Portsmouth on November 15 th. Anyone interested should email Alex kq4trq@gmail.com.

Rick KB1ASM will check with the Hollis Rod and Gun Club about availability for Winter Field Day.

Riding the Continuous Wave

Door Prize

A member won the door prize by raffle.
