September 13, 2026 Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 3 PM by Club President Susan Richardson.

Members and guests introduced themselves with a meet and greet.

Presentation

Dan K1DQ gave a presentation on the challenge of DXing. Dan’s experience in the DX world provided members with lots of tips and resources for hunting DX.

Approval of the September Meeting Minutes

Treasurer’s Report

Ernie KB4EFX reported on current balance.

Membership Coordinator’s Report

Taylor KE2EBR reported that we have 35 members and 19 are members of the ARRL.

Public Information Officers Report

Ed K1RID reported that the Sentinel ad is active, and suggested that we post the frequencies with dates and times of our Nets so those interested could listen on their scanners. Membership thought this is a good idea.

Old Business

Discussed all the events the Club participated in during the Summer. It was requested by some members we look at other locations for our events and bring them to the Club for consideration. The members agreed that the events this Summer were successful and well received by the public that visited our locations.

Susan announced that the Club is officially now a 501(c)7, and thanked the members and officers for their patience, effort, and support. Members thanked all involved in making this happen as they acknowledged it was a tremendous amount of work.

Member asked that the Club send the Trolley Museum a Thank You note for letting us operate at the museum.

New Business

It was suggested the Club ask members willing to Elmer to provide information on what areas they could Elmer. The Club would maintain a list of Elmers and connect them to those in need of their support.

Winter Field Day location was discussed and Susan will check and see if the Buxton Rod and Gun Club is available and report back at the October meeting.

Nominations should be considered for the upcoming election of Officers. The office of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary are all expiring. If you are interested in one of these positions please let Susan know.

Riding the Continuous Wave

The CW Net will begin on Thursdays at 7 PM on 80 Meters.
